Dandruff issues have become very common now
and not only in winter but it can happen just at any time of the year. Also,
the myth about dandruff can happen only on dry scalp is also gone now. It can
happen on oily scalp as well. Dandruffs can occur because of heavy pollution,
irregular shampooing and bad lifestyle as well.
When dandruff happens, the best way to
remove them is by using a good anti dandruff shampoo. One can choose the best medicated shampoo to fight
back the white flakes. But one can also take help of some other remedies apart
from using the market available anti dandruff shampoos. These remedies are
mostly homemade and they are also considered to be very effective. Here are a
few remedies that one can try:
Apple cider vinegar or White Vinegar
ACV is a great remedy when one is suffering
from dandruff issues. It has high acidity content and so when applied it can
change the pH balance of the scalp of an individual. When used, it can stop the
growth of yeast on the scalp which is the major cause for dandruff formation.
In a cup, one can mix half portion water and half portion of ACV and then pour
it into a sprayer. Then one can keep sprinkling the mixture on their hair and
scalp from time to time. After spraying one can cover the head with a shower
cap and keep it for 20 minutes. Then one can wash it well with a light shampoo.
Doing this at least twice a week can be of good help.
Fenugreek
It is a very common spice which is
available in almost every Indian kitchen. It is full of protein and amino acids
and they are both good for scalp and hair. It can make the hair hassle free and
smooth and can also clean the scalp if there is any dead skin or white flake
accumulation. It is a good idea to soak some fenugreek seeds in a bowl of water
overnight. Then one can make a paste of those soaked seeds the next morning. It
can be applied on the scalp and to be kept for an hour before shampooing it
away.
Coconut Oil
If the scalp is dry and it needs hydration
and if dandruff is happening because of this dryness then oil massage can be of
big help. Coconut oil can also treat other dry skin issues apart from dandruffs
like eczema. Take 2 table spoons of coconut oil and heat it to apply it evenly
on the scalp and hair. One can also mix a few drops of fresh lemon juice there
if they have heavy dandruff issues.
One can select the best medicated dandruff shampoo and use it at a regular interval.
These shampoos are available at almost every drug store at the counter. But it
is always better to ask for a recommendation from a dermatologist when it comes
to choosing the right shampoo because they can help one to get the most
effective one.
