How to stop the dandruff growth
Dandruff is a very common scalp disorder
and it mostly occurs on dry and irritated skin. Because there is a growth of
fungus and bacteria on the scalp it can give rise to excessive formation of dry
skin flakes and itchiness.
But it is not true that dandruff always
happen on dry scalp. It can happen on extremely oily scalp as well because
there is excess sebum production there and there is accumulation of yeast and
dead skin cells which give rise to yellow or white flakes. There are other
causes of dandruffs as well. Improper hygiene, excessive pollution and bad
lifestyle can also lead to dandruff problems. If one has coloured hair and
dandruff occurs there, then they must use the best
shampoo for dandruff and colour treated hair to get proper results.
Apart from using effective anti dandruff
shampoos one can also use some proper home remedies which are natural and
hardly have any side effects.
Green Tea
One needs white vinegar, green tea and
peppermint essential oil for this remedy. One has to brew cup of green tea and
then mix 2 to 3 drops of peppermint oil into it. Then add a tea spoon of white
vinegar and then let it cool. Once it cools down, one has to wash the hair and
scalp with it. Keep it for 5 minutes at least and then wash it off with a mild
shampoo. Doing this before bath at least twice a week can bring effective
results. Both green tea and peppermint oil has anti microbial properties along
with anti oxidants and hence it can promote scalp health.
Neem Leaves
Take a few neem leaves and soak them in hot
water for overnight. Next morning, strain the water and use it to rinse the
hair and scalp. One can also paste the leaves and apply it on the scalp. Let it
sit for an hour before washing it off with a mild shampoo. This has to be done
twice before taking a bath so that one can get rid of white flakes and
itchiness. Neem leaves have anti bacterial properties which can remove the
cause of irritation and stops the formation of yeast.
Aspirin
One can take 2 aspirin tablets and crush
them properly to fine dust. Then add them to their regular shampoo and mix
well. Use that mixture to wash the hair. This works because aspirin has
salicylic acid that can help in exfoliating the scalp.
Apple cider vinegar
One has to dilute a few table spoons of ACV
with equal parts of water and then apply it on the scalp and hair. This has to
be done after shampooing. One can keep it for 2 minutes and then wash it with
plain water. They are great in killing fungus which is the major cause of
dandruffs.
Coconut oil massage
Coconut oil along with tea tree oil when
applied on the scalp and hair can also remove those itchiness and irritating
white flakes.
One can look for a good dandruff shampoo for colour treated hair if they are facing
dandruff issues.
