A guide for how to protect colored hair
Nowadays people are
obsessed with dyed hairs whether it is blue, red, purple, or any other color.
But as you know coloring your hair means putting chemicals on your hair which
can damage your hair tremendously. So to protect your hair from damage, you
need to pay a little extra attention to your colored hairs.
To keep your dyed
hair healthy you should follow the given tips.
1. Moisture. Do your best to keep your hair from drying out. Use shampoo for colored hair India and conditioners, and deep condition once a week or every two weeks depending on how dry or damaged it is. These products are gentler on color-treated hair. Head massage every day. You don't have to oil your hair to massage. Just use your finger and give yourself a gentle massage for 5 minutes or so. Head masks using eggs, avocados are also very nourishing.
2.
Be gentle with it. For example, if you are
normally a level 1 (black) and you want to be a level 10 (lightest blonde) the
hair is now in a compromised state. Know what you are getting into and what the
upkeep/maintenance entails. Wash less frequently and in cool to lukewarm water,
1–3 times a week max. This will help seal the cuticle and color. Wash your hair
using a homemade cleaner; you can also use shampoos and conditioners from
ketomac which has natural ingredients that keeps your hair healthy. Rye flour,
besan (chickpea flour), clays (rhassoul and bentonite), or Indian herbs are
great options.
3.
Hot tools. Hot tools need a protector (heat protecting
products) when using. Know your texture and what temps are best for your hair
type. Fine hair will require lower temps. Once the hair has been colored
educate yourself with hot tools (curling irons, flat irons, etc). Turn down the
heat on your styling tools - blow dry on the warm setting at the most, use
curling irons or flat irons at lower temperatures, and always use a thermal
styling protectant (flat iron spray). Heat is colored hair’s enemy and will
promote faster fading.
4.
Added attention. Don't spend extended time in the sun, if you go
swimming in a pool treated with chlorine, be sure to wash it out after you get
out, if you swim in saltwater, and be sure to do the same. Use the conditioner
included in the hair color. Buy a sulfate-free shampoo. Since you dyed your
hair it's more on the dryer side so a sulfate-filled shampoo is going to strip
away all the natural oils in your hair leaving it even more dry and prone to
breakage. Check on the back of the bottle and check in the ingredients for anything
that says sulfate. Buy a good conditioner that is silicone-free.
You should take good
care of your hair after coloring as per your desire to keep that highlighted. If
you have dandruff you can use your dandruff-removing shampoo; dandruff
shampoo safe for color-treated hair. Hair is the first thing
people notice about you so maintaining them is very important.
