Are you suffering from dandruff too
Excessive shedding
of dead skin from the scalp is what you call dandruff. It can be seen in almost
half of the human population post-puberty. No matter what your age or gender
maybe, you are at risk. Although it is not deadly it can be embarrassing. It
affects one’s social status which can lead to mental suffering. The increase in
dandruff mostly takes place during winter. Although there are many shampoos
available in the market there is no outright cure. You can even use anti
dandruff shampoo for colored hair available in the market.
There are many home
remedies that you can try.
Aloe
vera gel massage- Aloe Vera has
powerful healing and soothing properties. The gel of fleshy leaves of this
plant can be effective for the dry scalp. Gently massage a small quantity of
aloe vera gel to your scalp to relieve itchiness and inflammation and
moisturize the skin. Leave it overnight and wash in the morning for the best
results.
Coconut
oil massage- Coconut oil is a natural remedy for many skin
problems including dandruff. The use of coconut oil helps to hydrate the skin,
prevent excessive dryness, reduce irritation, and prevents fungal infection of
the scalp thereby preventing dandruff.
Vinegar
wash- After you wash your hair with your preferred
hair wash, simply run your hair through a diluted vinegar solution while
stroking your hair follicles with light hands. The acetic acid not only helps
in taking away the fungal flakes from the scalp but also helps your hair shine.
For best results, use apple cider vinegar with raw extracts regularly.
Yogurt
hair mask- Yogurt is a rich source of LAB, i.e. lactic
acid bacteria that combat the fungal source of dandruff effectively right from
the first application. Simply take a bowl full of yogurt and apply it as a hair
pack covering the hair roots and scalp. Leave it on for close to twenty minutes
and wash it off without a hair wash. The microbial action enriches your hair
follicles for healthy hair growth while removing the base dandruff layer. It
also inhibits the growth of fungus on your head.
Lemon
Juice- Using a spoonful of citric acid can work
wonders for your scalp. Simply extract a bowl of lemon juice and apply it to
your scalp. Leave it there for half an hour and wash off with a deeply
hydrating hair wash. The citric acid rejuvenates the hair roots that remain
damaged due to prolonged exposure to dandruff and fungus. A little bit of lemon
juice also helps in balancing the pH level of your scalp.
Turmeric
and neem hair mask- Since the dandruff
is primarily a result of fungal actions in your hair; it needs effective
natural agents to take that off your scalp. Simply scoop out a teaspoon of
freshly ground turmeric and mix it with a spoon of rich neem paste. You can
even use the neem bark here if you have intense dandruff problems.
These remedies can
be used on colored hair as well. You can try ketomac’s anti-dandruff shampoo;
it is considered one of the best anti dandruff shampoo for coloured hair.
